So true. Before you can break the rules, you have to know the rules.
The sign in the picture denotes that one must first be a member of whatever “Members Only” club it is for admission to participate in their restricted fraternity. The advantage of inclusion is the ability to have a say in the making of rules, rules that – depending on the institution – may have influence or impact on more than just the members, perhaps even society at large. An obvious example being political parties who limit us in choices according to their rules as to who will be nominated and, therefore, possibly elected, and if one wants any real “weigh in”, one must “make their way in” by becoming involved or otherwise not “being heard”. Of course, one has to first give a damn.
Well put William. Unfortunately if you care about weighing in you must make your way in.
