One Question

One Big Bang. One genesis of life. One intelligence. How does one keep coming from none?

What Happens Next Poem

What happens next,
when no one’s about,
to witness the end,
when the lights flicker out?

What happens when
every game has been won,
every life has been lived,
every song has been sung?

What happens after,
the last dream has been dreamt,
the last thought has been thunk,
the last meaning is meant?

Are we destine for something?
Do we get it all done?
Will we figure it out?
Do we finish the run?

Then when we’re not here,
is there love?
Is there time?
What happens to yours?
What happens to mine?

Will anyone know
what transpired here?
Will it add up to something,
or all disappear?

What happens next,
when no one’s about,
to witness the end,
when the lights flicker out?

Fall From Symmetry

Our scientific quest has led us to the realization that fractions of a second after the Big Bang, the absolute symmetry, predicted by the Standard Model, was shattered by a tiny, mysterious defect. And it was this fall from perfection that is our genesis.
